Nansen Village offers students much more than the basics. Extra facilities include:
This area is a communal space where tenants can socialise and hold small gatherings. It is equipped with a fridge and a cooker and tenants are able to play table tennis here.
Nansen Village has spacious gardens where children’s play equipment is available. We advise parents to accompany their children when they use the play equipment.
There are three study rooms in Nansen Village where tenants can study without distractions.
A parents and toddlers group is held three times a week in the Common Room.
The Weinberg Library is named after the founders of Nansen Village and was inaugurated in 2004. It is a newly refurbished and quiet space where students can work. The growing collection is subject wide and based on donations.
Tenants with a car can use the Village’s car park (a monthly fee of £10 applies).
There are two coin-operated launderettes on the premises. Each family has allocated time slots over the week. Commercial dry cleaners can be found on the High Road which is a short walk from the Village.
There is a privately run nursery in Nansen Village for the tenants and local children called Laurel Way Playgroup. More information about the nursery can be found at www.laurelway-playgroup.com
