Who is eligible?
BOSHA is a non-profit organisation dedicated to offering reasonably-priced accommodation for full-time postgraduate students and their families. This includes Masters and Doctorate (PhD) degrees. Applicants must show proof that they are registered for a UK degree at an institution officially recognised by the Department of Education and Skills.
Accommodation is for couples with or without children (there is no single accommodation).
Who is not eligible?
- Students requiring single or sharing accommodation
- Undergraduate students
- Post-doctoral students
- Research fellows and trainees
How do I apply?
If you think you are eligible, you can apply for accommodation by following these steps:
- Download and complete the application form. If you do not manage to download the file with the usual left-click, right-click on the link and use the option "Save As");
- Attach a copy of an unconditional offer letter (or a letter confirming your degree status) from your university;
- Send it back to us by e-mail, fax or post.
What happens next?
- Eligible applications are acknowledged and directed to the Tenancy Committee - consisting of a group of Trustees and a tenant representative. If approved by the Committee, prospective tenants are placed on our list of candidates eligible for accommodation and are contacted if a suitable property becomes available.
When considering candidates, the Tenancy Committee gives preference to:
- students applying from abroad
- applicants from developing countries
- for family accommodation, families with children under the age of 5
- applicants on a limited income
- applicants from countries currently under-represented in Nansen Village
We receive many applications, especially for family accommodation. There is no guarantee that every applicant will eventually be offered accommodation at Nansen Village.
